Wonder Restaurant Targets Fort Worth as Marc Lore Accelerates Texas Expansion
A rapidly growing food technology company founded by entrepreneur Marc Lore is preparing to make its Fort Worth debut as part of an ambitious statewide expansion that could reshape how Texans order restaurant meals.
Wonder Restaurant combines multiple chef-inspired restaurant brands into a single delivery-first kitchen, allowing customers to order everything from burgers and barbecue to sushi, pizza, salads, steaks, and desserts in one transaction. The concept operates as a modern Wonder food hall Texas model, eliminating the need to visit multiple restaurants. After surpassing 100 locations, the company's restaurants are primarily concentrated in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and the Washington, D.C. region.
Founded by billionaire entrepreneur Marc Lore, the company has attracted billions of dollars in investment and acquisitions to support its rapid growth, including the purchase of Grubhub. The Marc Lore Wonder expansion is now targeting Texas as its first major market outside the Northeast.
According to state filings and building permit records, Wonder Restaurant Fort Worth is planning two locations. The first is a 3,345-square-foot tenant finish-out at Montgomery Plaza, 2600 W. 7th Street, Suite 101, with Lakeside Commercial Builders serving as general contractor on the approximately $950,000 project. A second 4,521-square-foot restaurant is planned at Presidio Junction, 8825 North Freeway, Suite 109, the former la Madeleine space, with an estimated construction valuation of $1.2 million. HFA Architecture of Bentonville, Arkansas, designed both locations.
Wonder announced earlier this year that it intends to open more than 100 Texas locations by the end of 2027, targeting Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, and other fast-growing markets. "We're excited to enter Texas and introduce more people to what makes Wonder unique – chef-crafted menus, unmatched variety, and seamless convenience," said Tony Hoggett, CEO of Wonder North America. He added that Texas' strong population growth and food culture make it an ideal fit for the company's delivery-first model.
State filings show the company's Texas pipeline already includes projects in Fort Worth, Southlake, McKinney, Frisco, Richardson, Allen, Dallas, Plano, Murphy, Princeton, Cedar Hill, Rowlett, Mesquite, Arlington, Austin, Houston, Spring, Friendswood, San Antonio, Schertz, and Waco, signaling one of the largest restaurant expansion efforts currently underway in the state.
