From Buffalo to Fort Worth: The Hoagie Stop's 1st Out-of-State Restaurant
Buffalo’s beloved sandwich destination, The Hoagie Stop, is preparing to bring its signature flavors to Texas for the first time. The family-run shop has earned a loyal following across three New York locations, and now it’s ready to debut its first out-of-state restaurant in Fort Worth.
The new space, located at the Shops at Basswood on 2719 Basswood Blvd., will undergo a $125,000 remodel starting in October 2025, with doors expected to open by mid-November.
Signature Hoagies, Loaded Fries, and Fan-Favorite Flavors on the Menu
The Hoagie Stop is best known for its oversized sandwiches stacked high with freshly sliced meats, cheeses, and house-made toppings. From classic steak hoagies layered with premium seasoned beef, cheese, onions, banana peppers and their homemade hoagie sauce to stinger hoagie topped with Buffalo style tossed chicken fingers and steak, every bite reflects the bold, hearty style that put the shop on Buffalo’s food map.
Complementing the sandwiches are golden fries, loaded sides, and regional specialties that keep customers coming back for more.
Byron Cogdell’s Vision Behind The Hoagie Stop’s Success
At the center of the brand is founder Byron Cogdell, whose entrepreneurial drive and passion for authentic flavors helped turn a single neighborhood deli into a growing name in the sandwich world. Cogdell has always emphasized quality and consistency, making sure every location delivers the same generous portions and welcoming atmosphere.
His vision is rooted in giving communities more than just a meal—he sees The Hoagie Stop as a place where people gather, share stories, and savor comfort food done right.
Fort Worth Welcomes a Fresh Take on Sandwich Culture
The new Fort Worth location, designed by Medina Design & Consultant of Arlington, will reflect the same casual, inviting vibe that has defined The Hoagie Stop since its beginnings in Buffalo. With construction plans well underway, North Texas food lovers won’t have to wait long before experiencing one of Buffalo’s favorite sandwich shops in their own backyard.
